Marty LaFave is a 30 year career member of the fire service, currently serving in the Bellevue Fire Department. His past assignments included Firefighter, Paramedic, Medical Services Officer, Public Information Officer, Captain and he is currently serving as the Commander of the Emergency Medical Services Division. Marty was involved in crafting designated to re-evaluate the regional MCI/Surge approach. Marty remains the instructor for the MCI portion of MCTO. Marty is also a founding member of Washington State's Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT). Over the past 20 years, he has deployed to both National and International events, including earthquakes in Soviet Armenia, El Salvador, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Marty has more recently deployed to New York City after the World Trade center tragedy as well as to New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.
