John Stuckey retired from the Bellevue Fire Department following 30 years in the fire service and over 23 years as an engine company officer. During much of this time he was an acting battalion commander and helped create the tactical curriculum for the Bellevue Fire Department. The primary training goal in the training was to develop each company officer so they could best manage an emergency incident. In focus specifically were; fire ground communications, strategy and tactics and developing a proper “span of control” at escalating alarms. Captain Stuckey also developed a parallel course on tactics and communication that has been delivered to fire departments in King, Snohomish and Skagit Counties.
